ALEX ZUBER
PASTOR

Pastor Alex ZuberPastor Alex Zuber was called to serve Grace in the summer of 2026.  He is a graduate of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia and James Madison University, where he majored in Public Health Education.  Since his ordination in 2017, he has served across the Virginia Synod ELCA, previously at the Stony Man Lutheran Parish in Luray, as interim pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lexington, and for 7 years at Muhlenberg Lutheran Church in Harrisonburg. Pastor Alex approaches ministry by saying, “I am called to practice hope where it feels impossible – in hospital rooms, waiting seasons, weary corners of communities, anxious questions, and ordinary days. I follow Jesus, trusting that God’s grace is wider than human categories and that faith is often practiced in small, loving acts of service. Pastor Alex’s greatest joy is being dad to Nadia.  He is married to Renna, and they live in Fishersville with their two dogs (Arya and Finn) and cat (Toothless).  In his free time, he loves funny TV shows, good audiobooks, watching sports, and looks for any opportunity to engage musically—trumpet, choir, guitar, and who knows what’s next!  These days, you’ll find him outside birdwatching, or running the grill, where he’s always happy to talk about Star Wars, marching band, and other nerdy things!  He’s a self-described “big nerd” who loves to dive deep into great stories and great music, and to reflect on how they shine a light on important truths in the world around us.
